Jewellery Care Guide
Sterling Silver Jewellery Care
Sterling silver can oxidise over time dulling its appearance. Properly maintained silver jewellery improves with age and develops a lush patina.
Remember not to wear sterling silver jewellery in chlorinated water or when working with household chemicals. When dressing put your sterling silver jewellery on last to avoid contact with perfumes and other cosmetics.
Clean your sterling silver jewellery with a mild soap and water solution and then pat dry with a soft cloth. For more stubborn dirt, use a cleaner designed for silver use. Do not rub silver with anything other than a polishing cloth as tissues, paper towels or other materials can cause scratches. To remove any tarnish simply use a special silver cleaner or rub with a silver cloth, that is all that is required to restore its brilliant shine.
Store your sterling silver in a cool, dry place wrapped in a soft piece of cloth, such as a calico bag. Store pieces individually so that they don’t knock together and scratch. Make sure your sterling silver is not exposed during storage to air or light, which can cause silver to tarnish.
